Across the nation, Scholarship America's programs -- including Dollars for Scholars -- have given out $2.5 billion to nearly 2 million students since our founding 50 years ago.
East Washington joined Dollars for Scholars on April 29, 1992. We were the first Washington County school district to have a scholarship program.
Residents attending the Pekin Town meeting discussed starting a scholarship program and gave the first $2,000. Five $250 scholarships were given out the first year. Over time, the program has been able to increase funding to distribute nearly 30 scholarships per year, with monies totaling over $420,000 since the chapter's inception.
In an effort to raise more money for bigger scholarships, our DFS chapter is continually looking for new opportunities to raise funds.
Please join us with new fundraising ideas.
